After a lot of recent alterations to my first book, I finally got to the point where I needed to do a full read through of the book. I was not looking forward to this to be completely honest. I like my book, but I've been living in it for a year, reading it isn't a pleasure anymore, it's an exacting chore that I need to perform in order to make sure the final copy is good.
I have discovered a thing to make it much easier though, so here's a tip for you! Microsoft Word can read a document to you. Sure it's a robotic monotone reading, but at least it reads every word. I caught probably a hundred mistakes in editing just by listening. Of where it should be off, missing a's and the's, that kind of thing. It's a great tool if you're editing, to hear the words read aloud.
That task is finally complete and in a week or two I'll go into a frenzy of querying. In the mean time, I've decided to change my YouTube publishing schedule slightly. I will now publish 2 full length videos a week, Tuesdays and Fridays and 2 shorts, Sundays and Wednesdays. I think that will work better for my schedule than one big video on Fridays and 3 shorts during the week. We'll see :)
You can find this week's video over here:
This is my first video in the Fantasy Economics theme and it covers economic models and how to pick one for your fantasy world.
I hope you enjoy it and I'll be back next week with more writing news.
